TK Audio T-Komp Overview

TK Audio T-Komp dual mono stereo compressor front panel

Compression That Scales With Your Signal — Not Against It

The T-Komp doesn't pick a ratio and hold it there. Its progressive ratio design increases compression as both signal level and threshold interact, borrowing the musical behavior of Vari-Mu dynamics and applying it to a modern VCA architecture. The result is a compressor that feels natural at low levels and gets progressively more assertive as your signal demands it.

Two selectable ratio ranges keep it versatile — the wide range covers 1:1 to 20:1 for everything from tracking to hard limiting, while the narrow range sits between 1:1 and 2:1 for the kind of transparent, barely-there bus compression that holds a mix together without anyone noticing it's there.

As an authorized dealer, Pro Audio Reserve ensures your TK Audio T-Komp is genuine, backed by full manufacturer warranty and support.

Five RMS Timings — From Peak Limiting to Program Adaptive

Most compressors give you an attack knob and a release knob and send you on your way. The T-Komp gives you five carefully chosen RMS timing modes that cover the full range of compression use cases. Fast mode catches peaks with 1–40ms response. Medium and slow modes move through progressively longer windows, with the slow setting landing in familiar 160VU territory for that classic, musical release behavior.

The fifth mode is program adaptive — the circuit reads your signal and adjusts its speed accordingly, slowing down for slower material to avoid low-frequency distortion and tightening up on fast transients automatically. It's the mode you reach for when you don't want to think about timing and just want the compressor to do the right thing.

Feedforward, Feedback, Blend — Total Control Over Your Sound

Switch between feedforward and feedback detection modes and you're choosing between two fundamentally different personalities. Feedforward mode is punchy and immediate — modern, assertive compression that grabs transients before they get away. Feedback mode is smoother, more forgiving, and reacts to the signal after it's already passed the gain element for a sound that breathes more naturally with program material.

A 150Hz high-pass filter removes low-frequency energy from the sidechain so kick and bass don't unnecessarily trigger gain reduction on your bus. The Blend knob handles parallel compression without any external routing, and fully stepped controls across the board mean every setting you find is one you can reliably return to.

Highlights

  • Progressive ratio VCA compressor — ratio increases dynamically with signal and threshold levels
  • Two ratio ranges: 1:1–20:1 for hard compression and 1:1–2:1 for transparent bus dynamics
  • Five RMS timing modes including 160VU-style slow and program adaptive for live and complex material
  • Selectable feedforward and feedback detection modes for punchy modern or smooth musical response
  • 150Hz sidechain HPF, blend control for parallel compression, and fully stepped controls for recall

  • If your item is on backorder or unavailable, the pre-authorization will be voided and you will be notified by email.

  • Please note: While most items ship out within 1–2 business days, total delivery time is typically 3–5 business days, depending on your location and carrier handling.

Order Shipment

If your item is in stock and your payment has been processed, your order will typically ship within 1–2 business days. Total delivery time is approximately 3–5 business days from the date of order. Once shipped, you will receive tracking information at the email address provided during checkout within 24 hours of dispatch.

If you have not received tracking information within 3–5 business days of placing your order, please contact us at support@proaudioreserve.com.

The Distributor-Direct Advantage

To ensure you receive the most recent hardware revisions and 100% factory-sealed units, Pro Audio Reserve utilizes a Distributor-Direct fulfillment model. Unlike big-box retailers that may ship "floor models" or gear that has been sitting in general-purpose warehouses, your equipment is pulled directly from the primary manufacturer hub, serialized, and dispatched. This process ensures the highest level of quality control for professional-grade recording equipment.

Shipping Policy

We currently offer free shipping within the United States only. If the checkout process on our website allows you to enter a shipping address and complete your order, your location is eligible to receive delivery.

Changing Shipping Address

If you need to change your shipping address after your order has been processed or shipped, we will do our best to accommodate the request. Please note that address changes may result in delivery delays. Any additional costs incurred due to address changes, including carrier fees or rerouting charges will be the responsibility of the customer. No exceptions.

Shipping Times

All shipping times provided are estimates and should not be considered guarantees. Most orders ship out within 1–2 business days from the time payment is processed. However, total delivery time is typically 3–5 business days, depending on your location, carrier performance, and supplier fulfillment timelines.

We work closely with our vendors to ensure timely deliveries, but please note that supply chain disruptions, high-demand periods, or weather events may occasionally cause delays beyond our control.

  • To avoid misunderstandings: The “shipping time” refers to the total time from order placement to final delivery, not just when the item leaves the warehouse.

  • Cancellations: If you choose to cancel your order because it has not arrived within the estimated delivery window, you may be responsible for applicable shipping charges, restocking fees, warehouse handling costs, and other related fees.

  • Chargebacks: Customers who initiate chargebacks due to shipping delays without contacting us first may be held legally responsible for losses. We strongly encourage open communication so we can resolve any delivery concerns directly and efficiently via our Atlanta-based support team.

Delivery Options

  • Threshold Shipping: Your item will be delivered to your front door, porch, garage, or a covered entryway.
