The Telefunken M62 FET Hyper-Cardioid Stereo Set is built for engineers who need extreme control in live or studio environments. With pinpoint directionality and a detailed transient response, this matched pair excels on drum overheads, percussion, acoustic instruments, and stereo setups where room rejection and phase alignment are critical. At the heart of each mic is Telefunken’s acclaimed M60 FET amplifier body, paired here with two factory-matched TK62 hyper-cardioid capsules. The TK62 features a tight polar pattern and a 15mm gold-sputtered diaphragm (6-micron thickness) that captures fast, clean transients while delivering surprising low-end response for a small-diaphragm capsule. You’ll get a natural, present top end with zero harshness—ideal for cymbals, plucks, or even spot-miking in complex setups.

The M62’s frequency response is flat from 150 Hz to 3 kHz, with a soft dip at 6 kHz and a gentle lift at 8 kHz. This tuning gives the mic a smooth, musical character that highlights source detail without becoming brittle. Whether you're using them for stereo drum overheads, string ensembles, or capturing intimate acoustic textures, these mics maintain phase accuracy and stereo image integrity. The Class A discrete amplifier is the same core design found throughout the M60 line—built with hand-selected components and a custom U.S.-made output transformer. The result is low THD (≤0.015%), wide dynamic range, and the ability to handle high SPL sources without distortion.
