A Modern Take on a Tube Classic

At the core of each ELA M 260 microphone is a carefully selected NOS Philips 5840W vacuum tube paired with Telefunken’s T60 transformer—delivering rich harmonic detail, quick transient response, and an incredibly low noise floor. Each mic features a wide frequency response (20 Hz – 20 kHz), high SPL handling (135 dB), and a sensitivity rating of 16.5 mV/Pa, making them as capable with delicate strings as they are with bombastic orchestral swells. This Tri-Mono configuration includes three matched ELA M 260 microphones, factory calibrated to ensure sonic consistency across all channels. A custom 3-channel external power supply with slow-start heater circuitry ensures both safe power-up and long tube life, even in the most demanding studio environments.

Full Capsule Flexibility for Any Stereo Technique

Each mic comes with all three interchangeable TK6x series capsules—TK60 (cardioid), TK61 (omnidirectional), and TK62 (hypercardioid)—allowing you to dial in precise pickup patterns based on the application. Whether you're recreating a traditional Decca Tree with omnis or experimenting with hypercardioid spacing in a diffuse room, this kit gives you the tools to tailor your sound from the source. To further optimize directional response, the kit includes 30mm and 50mm diffuse field spheres, which attach to the omni capsules and enhance front-axis presence while reducing rear reflections. These spheres are ideal for regaining focus and clarity in large, reverberant spaces.
