The 4K7 includes a Character switch with three distinct voicings. Soft, Medium, and Hard  that fundamentally change how the microphone responds to a source. Soft mode delivers a silky, rounded top end that flatters vocals and acoustic instruments. Hard mode brings a more forward, present quality ideal for sources that need to cut through. Medium is the balanced starting point for when you want the pure character of the capsule and circuit doing their work without any additional coloring.

Cardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns expand your recording options further  use cardioid for focused, intimate captures or switch to omni for room ambience, ensemble recording, or situations where a more natural, open perspective serves the source better.
