Designed around an optical detection circuit and a fully tube-based amplification stage, it delivers controlled compression while maintaining clarity, depth, and headroom.

Optical Compression with Natural Movement

The Tubesessor uses a custom opto cell to produce smooth, program-dependent compression with the natural response associated with classic optical designs. This makes it especially effective on vocals, bass, and primary mix elements where transparency and control are critical.

Continuously adjustable Attack and Release controls allow precise shaping, while a Fixed mode provides consistent operation when a streamlined workflow is preferred.

Integrated Tube Saturation Circuit

The dedicated Tube Saturation section extends the Tubesessor beyond standard compression. Using a NOS Raytheon double triode tube and a custom output transformer, it offers four selectable modes ranging from clean operation to aggressive harmonic coloration.

This section can be used subtly for depth and density or pushed for added harmonic texture on drums, guitars, and synths.

Transformer-Balanced Tube Design

The Tubesessor features an all-tube amplification stage with a vintage-spec AMI input transformer and a custom silicon steel output transformer. A dual-output triode configuration increases available headroom while maintaining tonal integrity.

Five selectable sidechain filter settings allow low-frequency control and frequency-focused compression shaping. A large VU meter is selectable for Input, Output, or Gain Reduction monitoring.
