Heritage Audio Super 8 Overview

Heritage Audio Super 8 eight channel Class A mic preamp ADC

Eight Channels of 73-Style Class A Preamplification

Getting one excellent 73-style preamp into a signal chain is an achievement. Getting eight of them — along with premium 24-bit/192kHz analog-to-digital conversion — into a single 2U rack unit is something else entirely. The Heritage Audio Super 8 uses Heritage's three-stage, fully Class A 73-style preamp design on all eight channels, each equipped with exclusively custom-designed Carnhill transformers on both input and output, tantalum and Styroflex capacitors, and greater than 80 dB of gain in stepped 5 dB increments.

With an equivalent input noise of less than -125 dBu and THD below 0.025% at 1 kHz, the Super 8 is remarkably quiet for a transformer-coupled Class A design of this pedigree. Maximum output exceeds +26.5 dBu into 600 Ω with an output impedance below 75 Ω transformer-balanced and floating. Whether you're tracking drums, overdubs, or a full live session, the Super 8 gives every channel the same treatment a standalone Neve module would receive — all at once.

Heritage Audio Super 8 JFET DI lo-Z sweepable lo-cut channels 1 2

Per-Channel Pro Features With JFET DI on Channels 1 and 2

Every channel on the Super 8 includes switchable +48V phantom power, a Line button for line-level signals, a Phase button for polarity reversal, a -20 dB pad, and a Lo-Cut high-pass filter at 80 Hz. Channels 1 and 2 go further with a JFET direct input (greater than 2 MΩ input impedance), a Lo-Z button to switch mic input impedance between 1,200 Ω and 300 Ω for passive ribbon compatibility, and a fully sweepable Lo-Cut filter for precise low-frequency control on individual sources.

The per-channel switchable converter path adds a layer of workflow flexibility unavailable in most preamp-converter combinations. You can route the preamplified signal directly to the ADC, or switch to an alternate input source per channel — send a preamplified signal out to an external processor, then return it to the Super 8 for conversion. This transforms the Super 8 into a flexible front end that can accommodate outboard gear in the conversion chain without additional routing hardware.

Heritage Audio Super 8 ADAT AES EBU SPDIF word clock digital outputs

Premium 24-Bit/192kHz ADC With Three Digital Output Formats

The Super 8's built-in analog-to-digital converter delivers 24-bit resolution at selectable sample rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz including 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, and 192 kHz. All three industry-standard digital output formats are available simultaneously: two ADAT optical ports (TOSLINK) with S/MUX support, AES/EBU via 9-pin breakout cable, and S/PDIF via 9-pin breakout cable.

At 44.1 or 48 kHz, both ADAT ports carry all eight channels — Port 1 carries channels 1 through 8 and Port 2 mirrors them. At 88.2 or 96 kHz in S/MUX mode, Port 1 carries channels 1 through 4 and Port 2 carries channels 5 through 8. A BNC word clock input and output enables the Super 8 to operate as master or slave to any other word clock device in your studio. As an authorized dealer, Pro Audio Reserve ensures you receive a genuine Heritage Audio product backed by full manufacturer warranty and long-term support.

  • If your item is available and ready to ship within 1–2 business days, we will process the charge and arrange for shipment.

  • If your item is on backorder or unavailable, the pre-authorization will be voided and you will be notified by email.

  • Please note: While most items ship out within 1–2 business days, total delivery time is typically 3–5 business days, depending on your location and carrier handling.

Order Shipment

If your item is in stock and your payment has been processed, your order will typically ship within 1–2 business days. Total delivery time is approximately 3–5 business days from the date of order. Once shipped, you will receive tracking information at the email address provided during checkout within 24 hours of dispatch.

If you have not received tracking information within 3–5 business days of placing your order, please contact us at support@proaudioreserve.com.

The Distributor-Direct Advantage

To ensure you receive the most recent hardware revisions and 100% factory-sealed units, Pro Audio Reserve utilizes a Distributor-Direct fulfillment model. Unlike big-box retailers that may ship "floor models" or gear that has been sitting in general-purpose warehouses, your equipment is pulled directly from the primary manufacturer hub, serialized, and dispatched. This process ensures the highest level of quality control for professional-grade recording equipment.

Shipping Policy

We currently offer free shipping within the United States only. If the checkout process on our website allows you to enter a shipping address and complete your order, your location is eligible to receive delivery.

Changing Shipping Address

If you need to change your shipping address after your order has been processed or shipped, we will do our best to accommodate the request. Please note that address changes may result in delivery delays. Any additional costs incurred due to address changes, including carrier fees or rerouting charges will be the responsibility of the customer. No exceptions.

Shipping Times

All shipping times provided are estimates and should not be considered guarantees. Most orders ship out within 1–2 business days from the time payment is processed. However, total delivery time is typically 3–5 business days, depending on your location, carrier performance, and supplier fulfillment timelines.

We work closely with our vendors to ensure timely deliveries, but please note that supply chain disruptions, high-demand periods, or weather events may occasionally cause delays beyond our control.

  • To avoid misunderstandings: The “shipping time” refers to the total time from order placement to final delivery, not just when the item leaves the warehouse.

  • Cancellations: If you choose to cancel your order because it has not arrived within the estimated delivery window, you may be responsible for applicable shipping charges, restocking fees, warehouse handling costs, and other related fees.

  • Chargebacks: Customers who initiate chargebacks due to shipping delays without contacting us first may be held legally responsible for losses. We strongly encourage open communication so we can resolve any delivery concerns directly and efficiently via our Atlanta-based support team.

Delivery Options

  • Threshold Shipping: Your item will be delivered to your front door, porch, garage, or a covered entryway.
