Four Preamps — Including the Auteur You've Been Hearing About

Channels 1 and 2 run Black Lion's Auteur preamps — transformer-coupled with genuine CineMag USA iron, delivering the fast transient response of American-style preamps at lower gain settings and rolling into warm, harmonically rich British console character as you push them harder. These preamps have only ever been available in Black Lion's standalone units until now, and having two of them built directly into an interface changes what's possible at the source.

Channels 3 and 4 run Revolution preamps for clean, high-headroom amplification, and all four channels include combi inputs accessible from both front and rear panels, independent 48V phantom power, and front-panel insert access buttons for dropping outboard processors directly into individual channels without touching a patch bay.

Three audiophile-grade headphone outputs — each with its own custom mix via the onboard Mix Edit feature — means your drummer, vocalist, and guitarist can all have independently crafted cue mixes without any additional headphone amp hardware. ADAT expansion adds up to 8 additional inputs and outputs for growing sessions, and S/PDIF I/O plus word clock in and out keep your entire digital studio locked to Macro-MMC's ultra-low jitter reference.
