Antelope Audio Atlas i8 Overview

Antelope Audio Atlas i8 studio monitor front view showing dark green cabinet and coaxial driver

Sub-Bass Extension in a Monitor That Fits Your Room

The subwoofer conversation ends here. Most engineers running an 8-inch monitor eventually hit the same wall: the low end is there, but it's not honest. It's either bloated or missing entirely, and you're compensating every mix without realizing it. The Atlas i8 was designed to close that gap without asking you to rearrange your room around a separate sub.

The isobaric configuration runs two 8-inch woofers sealed in a shared chamber, one behind the other, moving in sync. The pressure from the first woofer is compensated by the second, creating an even internal pressure that lets the cabinet work much harder than its external footprint suggests. The result is genuine extension down to 35 Hz with 117 dB peak SPL and the kind of tight, controlled low-end character that only shows up when the physics are actually right. This is not enhanced bass. It is accurate bass, in a monitor you can place on a shelf.

A Single Point Source from 500 Hz Up. No Phase Artifacts. No Crossover Blur.

The coaxial mid/high driver arrangement is where the Atlas i8 earns its place in professional Dolby Atmos installations and critical mixing rooms alike. The 5.5-inch midrange and 1.5-inch tweeter share the same acoustic center, which means both drivers radiate from the same point in space at all frequencies. There is no vertical offset between them, no time misalignment, and no phase shift at the crossover that would smear transients in the critical upper-mid range.

For multi-speaker Atmos arrays, this matters considerably. When you are placing overhead speakers, wide surrounds, and front LCR channels, every monitor in the array needs to image identically regardless of placement angle. The coaxial design ensures the Atlas i8 behaves the same mounted flat against a wall, angled from the ceiling, or sitting on a meter bridge. The optional VESA 100x200mm mounting plate makes wall and ceiling integration clean and repeatable without custom fabrication. The cabinet itself can be oriented vertically or horizontally with no comb filtering or frequency response shift in the upper spectrum.

Antelope Clocking and Conversion Built Into the Monitor Itself

The AES/EBU digital input and output on the Atlas i8 are not an afterthought. Feed the monitor a digital signal directly and you bypass your interface's D/A conversion entirely, running into Antelope's own 64-bit Acoustically Focused Clocking at 192kHz instead. For studios where the interface is already an Antelope unit, that means the entire chain from record to playback runs on the same clocking architecture. For integrators building large Atmos systems, the AES output enables daisy-chaining two monitors from a single digital feed without additional splitters or distribution equipment.

The FPGA-based DSP runs FIR and IIR filters for linear phase response and time-aligned transducer output. The onboard 4-band EQ via the color display and rotary encoder handles room compensation without software: cut low-frequency buildup from boundary effects, trim the high end to account for desktop reflections, or set a delay offset to align the sweet spot when the monitor is placed further from the listening position. Three independent Class D amplifiers distribute 200W to the dual woofers and 100W each to the midrange and tweeter. Hand-built in the EU on 18mm reinforced MDF.

Order Confirmation

Once your order is placed, you will receive an order confirmation email. This confirms that we have received your order and have pre-authorized your credit card for the purchase. After confirming availability with our suppliers, we will proceed accordingly:

  • If your item is available and ready to ship within 1–2 business days, we will process the charge and arrange for shipment.

  • If your item is on backorder or unavailable, the pre-authorization will be voided and you will be notified by email.

  • Please note: While most items ship out within 1–2 business days, total delivery time is typically 3–5 business days, depending on your location and carrier handling.

Order Shipment

If your item is in stock and your payment has been processed, your order will typically ship within 1–2 business days. Total delivery time is approximately 3–5 business days from the date of order. Once shipped, you will receive tracking information at the email address provided during checkout within 24 hours of dispatch.

If you have not received tracking information within 3–5 business days of placing your order, please contact us at support@proaudioreserve.com.

The Distributor-Direct Advantage

To ensure you receive the most recent hardware revisions and 100% factory-sealed units, Pro Audio Reserve utilizes a Distributor-Direct fulfillment model. Unlike big-box retailers that may ship "floor models" or gear that has been sitting in general-purpose warehouses, your equipment is pulled directly from the primary manufacturer hub, serialized, and dispatched. This process ensures the highest level of quality control for professional-grade recording equipment.

Shipping Policy

We currently offer free shipping within the United States only. If the checkout process on our website allows you to enter a shipping address and complete your order, your location is eligible to receive delivery.

Changing Shipping Address

If you need to change your shipping address after your order has been processed or shipped, we will do our best to accommodate the request. Please note that address changes may result in delivery delays. Any additional costs incurred due to address changes, including carrier fees or rerouting charges will be the responsibility of the customer. No exceptions.

Shipping Times

All shipping times provided are estimates and should not be considered guarantees. Most orders ship out within 1–2 business days from the time payment is processed. However, total delivery time is typically 3–5 business days, depending on your location, carrier performance, and supplier fulfillment timelines.

We work closely with our vendors to ensure timely deliveries, but please note that supply chain disruptions, high-demand periods, or weather events may occasionally cause delays beyond our control.

  • To avoid misunderstandings: The “shipping time” refers to the total time from order placement to final delivery, not just when the item leaves the warehouse.

  • Cancellations: If you choose to cancel your order because it has not arrived within the estimated delivery window, you may be responsible for applicable shipping charges, restocking fees, warehouse handling costs, and other related fees.

  • Chargebacks: Customers who initiate chargebacks due to shipping delays without contacting us first may be held legally responsible for losses. We strongly encourage open communication so we can resolve any delivery concerns directly and efficiently via our Atlanta-based support team.

Delivery Options

  • Threshold Shipping: Your item will be delivered to your front door, porch, garage, or a covered entryway.
